In June, the roses on Mainau Island are in full bloom. The Promenade of Wild Roses and Bush Roses with its 600 different specimens and the Italian Rose Garden with more than 7,500 roses in bloom offer a spectacle of colours and fragrances. Stroll through the gardens and vote for your "Mainau Queen of Roses 2020" from June 10 to 28.
Subtropical and tropical plants like palms and bananas add to Mainau’s attractiveness during the summer months. Citrus plants in front of Mainau Palace or the tall pencil cypresses lining the sides of the Italian-Floral-Water-Cascade lend the island a Mediterranean flair. In keeping with the annual theme "Flowering water, floating gardens", 20 bathtubs planted, amongst others, with water lilies and lotus flowers can be found at the island’s shore. If you feel like getting into the tub yourself, you are cordially invited: One bathtub will remain free for a unique photo motif.
Enjoy early summer on Mainau Island, we are looking forward to your visit!
