Summer has arrived on Mainau Island: The hydrangeas on the rooftop garden are in bloom and the glistening Lake Constance together with all of its boats and ships is an epitome of vacation feeling. The perennial garden is dressed in a colourful garment of day lilies, phlox and other perennials and the Arboretum’s majestic giant trees and winding ways are offer pleasant cooling and shade. Coldness and climate change will also be the topics of this year’s exhibition at Mainau Palace entitled „No Ice Anymore? – Expeditions to the Climate Change “ where large-format images of icebergs, polar lights or King Penguins will be on display.
XXL fun and games for the whole family are guaranteed starting from July 24th, when a huge playing field of the famous game CATAN situated on an almost 10,000 square metres broad piece of land nearby the energy pavilion will be opened. On site, you will be able to immerse yourself in the world of CATAN, but you can also play CATAN and other games.
In our Palm House, music lovers will be able to enjoy four concert encounters with the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra. As part of the concert series „Jazz under Palm Trees“, the Bastian Brugger Quartett („BBQ“ in short) will serve a sonorous BBQ on 31st July 2020.
Enjoy summer on Mainau Island, we are looking forward to your visit!
